Objective To observe the clinical effect of VitalStim electric stimulation combined with swallowing training on dysphagia after stroke. Methods Sixty patients with dysphagia after stroke were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 30 persons in each group. Both groups were given routine treatment and swallowing training. On this basis, the treatment group was treated with vitalstim electrical stimulation. After 4 weeks of treatment, the patients" swallowing function was evaluated by the Watian drinking water test and the feeding-swallowing function score. Results After treatment, the effective rate of Watian drinking water test in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, the scores of feeding-swallowing function score in the two groups were significantly improved, and the scores of the patients in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of VitalStim stimulation combined with swallowing training on dysphagia after stroke was better than that of simple swallowing training, which was more beneficial to the recovery of swallowing function.
